The Weddington Optimist Club of Union County annually recognizes and rewards the outstanding students in Union County Elementary Schools, who made an effort to improve themselves in school.  The Optimist Club will recognize the Most Improved boys and girls from grades 4 – 5 from all 31 schools in the county.

Approximately 200 students will be selected by the teachers/guidance counselors and submitted to the principal of each school.  The Optimist Clubs are rewarding these incredible children by opening up Fox’s Alley Bowling Center in Monroe from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, May 11, 2024 for a pizza and bowling party.  Certificates of achievement will be given to each child.  Also, various door prizes will be given out during the day.
