Thank you for looking into how our Optimist Club helps the children of this community. Our Optimist Club was created by a group of thoughtful, hardworking people in October 1980. Throughout the years these men and women, and their successors - have met regularly to support and assist the youth of our community through a wide range of donations and charitable work.

Shown below are just a few examples of our work...
1) Sponsoring and supporting a local JOI club of over 20 youth. (The JOI club provides many hours of community service each year).
2) Support the Union County Christmas Bureau with yearly funding to support less fortunate families during the Christmas season.
3) Sponsors a Most Improved Student Party that reaches 200-300 children in Union County schools with bowling, pizza, books, and a recognition certificate.
4) Providing five $2,000 scholarships to youth who are good students and have provided service in their communities.
5) Participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program at least twice a year to pickup litter along the road.
6) Maintain a playground and walking trail through Optimist Park.
7) Provide scholarship opportunities through oratorical contests and essay contests.
These are just a few of the many activities we have in our club to support the youth in the area.
